okay so i officially have a rabbit problem.

i had to run to my dad's out of nowhere and got back in time to water my garden and quickly catch the tip-off.

go back, and there's a big-ass rabbit nibbling on my lettuce again.

to go backwards for a second, i'm pretty sure that's the issue. last year we planted seeds of leafy lettuce and everything was fine. this year, every time i see that rabbit it's eating my head of lettuce plant.

so anyway, i get back there and yell, 'YOU BITCH!' and clapped a couple times, it sprinted away but stopped at the fence. so i started to lean over to grab my throwing knife and it dipped off.

then i realized my neighbor behind me and his son were swimming when he yelled, 'rabbits, huh?'

me: yeah, i'm gonna end up shooting one of these things. (ftr, still hadn't seen his son swimming yet)

him: rabbit stew, do what you gotta do.

i mumbled something, then realized his son was there, and i apologized and went about watering my nibbled lettuce.

i'm seriously pissed. fox blood, whatever. i'd rather not have to put a fence up and i'd really rather not have to kill one (all) of these things, but it's gonna end up annoying me more than it even is now.

thought i posted that 5 minutes ago...just got off the phone with my FIL. first thing he said (on speaker so his daughter could hear loool) was, 'we canta eat the wilda rabbit, they got disease. but if you wanna shoot, shoot'

hahahaha

he also suggested 'dried blood', probably will be getting that whenever i wake up. it apparently washes off the lettuce when you water, so put it surrounding the plants.

**** that rabbit.

checked this morning, and there definitely is one lettuce plant that isn't doing as well as the others. might be transplant shock, probably is the rabbit. gonna probably go to lowe's on the way to golf later on for some of that dried blood.

i still need to buy some tomato cages, so i guess chicken wire could be bought too, but i'd really rather not have to put a fence around it.

bah

Perhaps the lettuce would benefit from prozac

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised wiper hasn't tried to nurse it back to health with a combination of booze and pills since that seems to work pretty well for him.
