there's a walkway on the side of the garage leading back to it, behind the garden was gonna be corn, but i didn't plant it early enough after tilling it (yeah) so i left it alone.

mower fits perfectly between the fence/garden and garage/garden so it isn't a big deal. in the future i'm sure we'll rip it up, throw some of that black carpet **** down then mulch it with flowers or something.

mixture of regular dirt and mushroom compost.

and that **** is amazing. on the top it doesn't look real good, dirt-rocks and what not, but an inch or two deep it's rich soil. hadn't ****ed with it too much before today (put some preen down but that's it), but it's really good soil. sorry i forget exactly the mix or what the dirt was, but mushroom compost was the kicker.

also, put some marigolds in each corner of your garden(s). for real. they keep away a lot of insects and rabbits. something about the smell.

i know, i didn't believe it either but we've had a family of rabbits in our backyard for the last 2 summers, and 1 set of marigolds in each corner keeps them away.

for real. before we planted today i've seen rabbits just chilling in the garden and last year the same. but as soon as we planted we never had any problems because of the marigolds.

google it i guess.

Pretty sure the marigold/bug+rabbit thing is a myth although they do help attract mites. Worked in a garden awhile back.

heh, i always put marigolds around the outskirts but didnt do it this yr. will proly throw some down tomorrow.

i used the square foot method this year with equal parts compost, vermiculite, and peat moss. the soil is super light and airy. I actually mostly used compost as i had a bunch for free from my mom's house. mixed in some mushroom compost, leaf compost and some other local compost.

My grandparents have a huge ranch so we just got an entire truckbed full of manure and tilled that into the garden about once every 5 years. Nothing is cheaper or works better for getting better soil quality imo. (Old manure, not fresh so there's no smell)

man i mean like if you're sure, then okay. but we legit have rabbits all over and i never even saw a nibble on a plant last year. something prevents that, i'm gonna assume it's the marigolds.

Funny. I always thought the kid in purple and black at 0:19 in this video (Clark Duke) was the greatest extra ever because he somehow turned video-bombing every scene of the final party in Superbad into starring roles in Kick-Ass and Hot Tub Time Machine.

I'm thinking you guys are a missing out on a nice rabbit main course to go along with your fresh vegetables.

Golden malrin fly bait mixed with a can of Coke in a pie pan will rid your yard of any type of animal. They're summoned in by the coke then die within a minute from the fly bait.

You consider having your yard littered with animal corpses being rid of them?

****ing rabbit nibbling my lettuce this morning.

i have no idea why they didn't last year, might go buy a couple more marigolds, but other than that, looks like the .22 plinker rifle might get some use. no ****ing way i'm letting those rabbits eat up my garden this summer.

My grandfather in the middle of a much more urban neighborhood than wiper would shoot squirrels out of his bedroom window with a .22. It must have been so quiet none of the neighbors ever noticed. He also electrified the pole holding up his birdfeeder so they couldn't climb it.

angle's weird, but it's behind my garage. area behind garage was just nothing but ****ing weeds when we bought our house, i'd never had a garden before and the first spring we were here my brother and i built it.

i always kinda laughed at gardens, but i love it now. pretty sure this week i'm gonna go get some of those big blue containers and line them up along the garage with more stuff...herbs and spices and whatnot. and some catnip for my cats.

well obviously i was mostly joking. my brother suggested his crossbow, probably will roll with that.

and yeah, a .22 rifle you probably wouldn't even hear inside your house if the central air is running.

i mean, i get it's in a city, but i'll declare war on those rabbits if they don't leave my ****ing lettuce alone.

maybe when i see them i'll just scream real loud and sprint at them. or pose as a scarecrow. or chase them like those kids down in pahokee.

Two pretty cool sports trivia questions I heard the past few days--

1) There are currently 11 pro teams in the 4 major sports whose name does not end in an S. Name them.

2) Currently, there are 5 sets of teams in the 4 major sports that share the same name. Along with this, there are two sets who use to share their name, but do not due to a team folding. Name them

Assuming Ice Hockey is the 4th sport? I don't know enough teams.

1. Without cheating!

Spoiler:
Boston Red Sox
Chicago White Sox
OK City Thunder
Miami Heat
Utah Jazz

Okay, even looking at the lists of all the teams, I cannot come up with 11 for number 1.

I originally got six
Spoiler:
Heat, Magic, Thunder, Jazz, Red Sox, White Sox
and then the lists showed me two I missed
Spoiler:
Wild, Lightning
but I'm still missing 3 apparently.

As for 2)
The only thing that immediately came to mind was
Spoiler:
NY Giants/SF Giants
