Also had no problem with Rohm (?)

And agree that L&O, SVU, etc. on Netflix are the goat time-wasters when bored

recently every time i see an actress that i like i think "i wonder if she ever guest starred on law and order?", then i look it up and at least half the time i end up watching an episode. could be more but netflix doesnt have the newer seasons of the original

Rohm's last episode where she randomly came out as a lesbian with like two minutes to go was pretty lol. Harmon's still the gold standard, I'm pretty sure she actually wanted to send all those actors to the chair, all the others were just a pretty face

i just thought rohm ruined the streak that carmichael, jamie ross and claire kincaid (and paul robinette, even tho he's a dude) had going. they were all so perfect, and then rohm stepped in, and wasn't that good of an actress. felt like she was reading from her script way too often*. tho i guess it's not all her fault, since the show wasn't as good anymore.

eta: *dennis farina was the absolute worst with this. he ALWAYS sounded like he read his lines right before they filmed the scene.

Its actually really sick if you like college football, basketball, and euro soccer.

In fact, they have tons of **** on there if you are looking for sports to watch and they've added highlights and other stuff.

Carcetti seems like he's an example of someone who is adapting (some would say resigning) to his surroundings even though he knows it's wrong. A guy like Gray Davis seems like the kind who enjoys the system and takes advantages of it happily.
Spoiler:
That was kind of my point, there are those who are inevitably chewed up in the political system, and there are those who do the chewing. Though saying that all involved in politics, as nath said, are ultimately playing the game may be true. Saying that Carcetti is narscissic because he looked at himself in the mirror or ignored his wife for watching his speech on tv once may seem correct, but I think in this case the direction of the show is to depict how the character is sloooowly chewed up by the system, and more importantly those around him. While Carcetti is put through the ringer by the system he constantly fights good and evil, but ultimately succumbs to the system because the evil influences are too strong. I think its easy to set in the surface motifs of the wire but not all are cause-effect. When I'm not posting from my phone ill try to elaborate more.

Spoiler:
A point I've heard made elsewhere-- and one reason for Carcetti's success with the voters-- is that, on a certain level, he is sincere. He really does believe in what he's saying about reform and helping people, when he says it. He just isn't prepared to face the ugly reality of what doing the things he says he'll do means, and he certainly isn't willing to sacrifice his career ambitions to do the right thing.

Spoiler:
I get the sense that Royce was once the same idealistic politician with good intentions long before we see him resorting to wearing African colors in the desperate hope of courting every last vote he can get. The sincere conversation the two have once the election results are decided is a revealing one.

The parallels with stances on crime rate, building developments ("**** you for tearing down the port of Baltimore"-Nicky Sobotka) and even the affairs are all there. Yet another example of how the show relentlessly drives home the same theme over and over again.

question i'm generally curious to see what the answer is:

to the people who have seen the full series of sopranos and lost, did you like the sopranos ending? lost's ending?

well it was tough for me i had no chance at keeping up with all the plots and all the speculation I generally went to lostpedia before every episode..that website was ridiculously massive when the show was going on there is no way i could retain all that information by the fourth season or so
