Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Like, when you talk about Jordan 1s, 2s, etc. is that the order they are released in or something, like 2001, 2002, etc. car models? Seriously having a hard time understanding wtf you are talking about.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

lol sorry

ya its release order on the air jordans. the ones he would wear in games too, not the other "models" from the jordan brand.

he's got some fairly new (i think?) j's out named after spike lee. "spizike's" and "son of mars"

The Jordan V and Jordan XI are the right answers, IMO.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Jordan 12s will always be my favorite basketball shoe, not because of the design, just because they came out at that perfect age when you're a kid and having a cool pair of shoes for school was one of the most important things in the entire world. I was also never allowed to get them, which was devastating for an 11 year old and just made me like them more. I should really buy a pair online now that I think about it.

Just noticed: The NBA Season thread; formerly known as Threadzilla is now dead. Only 17k posts!?!??

I guess it's been downhill after hitting the 100k post mark, that one year. That, plus the absence of some of the regs like epipen (the fatty), TuT (meltdown), Assani (bored), Asseni (lack of Assani material). (jk)

re: jmill,

I feel the same way about a pair of patent leather blue Reebok Answer I's, i had as a kid. Man were those shoes ugly, but I absolutely loved them. It is still the most I have ever spent on shoes in my life.

The way you feel about the twelves, I feel the same about the fives.

I think the twelves were also great because that's about when Jordan was crowned the undisputed GOAT.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

idk 6,7,8 were all ugly as hell. 13 look weird, again, unless you get the all black w/ little red in it. then 14s were like ahhhhhhh

btw jordan had on them 14s when he hit the shot against utah in game 6. and ya 12s were when he was killing it after comeback

I definitely have fond memories of spending too much money (or trying to convince my parents before I was old enough to work) on basketball shoes.

Yea, good point about the 12s. That was during the second 3 peat, when Jordan was at the height of his powers and after the Bulls had their 72 win season.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog and Forum Discussion

Aside from these news Asics I just bought, the Jordan elevens were the most expensive shoes I had (~$230). And even that, I got for 50% off because I worked at an Athletes World at the time they introduced the retro's.

They had a store rule that you can get 50% off on one pair of shoes every three months; do everyone just waited for the release of the newest Jordan's.

while were on the sneaker topic, if anyone is interested, eastbay has the reebok zigtech (pro future) on sale for $50 (50% off) right now.

they're very comfortable, and nice shoes to walk around in or work out with.

I'm pretty surprised people are still this into fashionable bball shoes. I thought people wore low tops, or air force one type sneakers, or just run of the mill Nike, Adidas, etc casual tennis shoes.
