I mostly enjoy G10 but the problem is his style spawns cheap knock-offs who are about 5% as entertaining as the real thing

also this is my overarching point, the problem isn't greear necessarily (though he is mostly intolerable if not on an ignore list), it's primarily the level of discussion that he forces the thread to take

which has been my point for years, obviously

Well I don't think you need to be Billy Beane to realize that Lincecumdumpster's best days are behind him. Baseball anyway, maybe he'll be picked up by a boy band.

I haven't really read the thread since the weekend minus a little bit to see the comments on the yanks/angels game. Was doing fine imo up til then. Guess I'll have to keep a closer look at it. Tough to keep up with season threads though, I rarely read all the posts from previous days if I wasn't reading and roughly keep up with games when I'm sitting down and watching baseball.

Mike Ditka won a super bowl, but only one. Plenty of ****ty coaches have won one super bowl, and their resume doesn't include "wrecking a team's future with one awful trade made out of laziness".

Yeah, Ditka is pretty lol I guess, didn't see him at a glance. He was the coach of a team that could be the greatest NFL roster ever assembled, although I don't know nearly enough to know 1) how much credit he is due for putting that roster together, and 2) how many SBs that team should have won over the handful of years they were dominant, i.e. how short of expectations they fell, if at all.

Regardless, his resume isn't that great. You could just as easily make an argument for John Madden.

****ty is prob a strong word but billick seemed super unimpressive. he ran through a string of great d coordinators and was backed by a terrific gm while presiding over a **** offense and he gets all the credit? seems kinda unfair.
