It's basically a soap opera the whole time, but that's not actually a terribly valid criticism.

The avg. daytime soap opera is terrible not because it focuses on more mundane relationship stuff or whatever, they're bad because they're terribly written, badly acted, and grinding out one ep per day forever. Mad Men basically does none of those things. It just has similar plot elements. That might mean it's not the show for you- but I think this complaint is a pretty lazy one.

The show could have carried on for like 5+ more seasons, and I would never get sick of it. I started watching when it was first airing, and I still watch the whole series like 2x a year. Feel like I'm always picking up on **** I didn't notice before too.
