It's weird that, other than the northeast and Cali/Arizona, only part of Wisconsin and then a giant circle surrounding St. Louis say soda. Growing up in STL I had never heard anyone call it anything other than soda - which makes sense - look how ****ing dark green that area is. JFC. How did that happen? Some New Yorkers settled there and killed anyone who didn't call it soda?

probably has something to do with St. Louis always having an eastern presence. even in the 1800s, they had a high population. from there, their influences having an atlantic root. compared with some more recently developed bigger cities

The scene where it rained upward was a bit much, but other than that I didn't notice anything egregious.

Just two more:

"One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take mylittle nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh no", I said, "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late."

" I think a good novel would be where a bunch of men on a ship are looking for a whale. They look and look, but you know what? They never find him. And you know why they never find him? It doesn't say. The book leaves it up to you, the reader, to decide. Then, at the very end, there's a page that you can lick that tastes like Kool-Aid."

Who are these people that show up to the pub and sit at the bar by themselves drinking and watching sportscenter reruns? So sad. Just do that at home.

Do you think maybe the reason they are in the pub drinking and watching SC reruns is because they don't want to go home.

People with naggy wives.

This whole Planet Fitness thing is new to me. I had no idea it actually was a non-gym. Is it really not possible to do free (non-Smith) SS lifts there?

Watching the lunk alarm videos is pretty hilarious. The comments section of YT is gold.

How is that even a real word for soda? Seriously, start applying this principle to other things, and it should take you 5 seconds to realize how wrong and how stupid it is.

POP is by far the most tilting term for soda.

Just realized my insurance requires submitting all perscription drug expenses for reimbursement. We've had a crap-ton of them over the past year, JFC! Distinctly remember wife telling me differently, but then she did have a brain tumor at the time. I can claim late, and figure it'll be around $3k net. Hopefully not too much of a dent out of the weekend. I swear to god, one day I may actually take some money and go to a casino and/or dog track poker room for the purposes of gambling. Some goddamned day.

And there's a new king of the Root Beer mountain:

1) Bundaberg (Australia)
2) Abita (Louisianna)
3) Stewart's

Unworthy of rank:
Sugar
Frostie
Boylan
Jones
IBC
Virgil's
Sioux City

Corn syrup
A&W
Hires
Dr. Brown's
Mug
Faygo
Barq's
Walmart Brand

Sweetened with human feces (i.e. do not want)
Blue Sky
Piggly Wiggly Brand
Zevia

Still on the bucket list:
Dad's
Wild Bill's
Bulldog
Saranac

Edit; List obviously does not include birch beers or diet root beer iterations.
