Yeah I'm pretty sure he's having a mental breakdown. Everyone else in the group is still really good friends so it's going to be really fun, but LOL at missing your own bachelor party.

Yeah he moved to Savannah a few weeks ago and most of the rest of us are still in New Orleans, otherwise we would be kicking down his door right now. And his fiancee is actually in town for the weekend here, lol. Hope he isn't cutting himself in his new apartment.

Pretty sure this is a situation where you don't take no for an answer and do anything in your power to get his ass on a plane.

I can't wait to see Noze's shoes.

That guy skipping his own bachelor party...I just... I don't even. That sounds like the worst pit of hell imaginable. Their marriage is already doomed. He's going to resent her until they divorce. He may as well tell her to **** off and go anyway. It's even more lolworthy that SHE is in Vegas right now.

I also do agree with the majority of the commonly accepted viewpoints expressed here or irl, but when everyone agrees there is nothing more to converse about so I'm more vocal when I have a contrarian view or experience.

Correct. Hence why I think he's having a mental breakdown.

Yeah we're figuring this out now, apparently he had a doctor write a note to the airline as documentation so he could get a refund. Which means he probably knew he wasn't going for at least a few days unless he just did it. He said he's been sick for awhile or whatever. Nobody else going to the party lives in Savannah, we're trying to figure out wtf to do here.

For the record I don't care what movie phb's wife shows her math students. She can show them Gigli as far as I'm concerned. If her point is to show a period piece involving adolescence then obviously Stand By Me is far superior.

That reminds me, and I know I've posted this before at least once, but we had a US History teacher - a priest actually - who absolutely could not have cared less about the subject matter after the Civil War. So after we covered that, maybe halfway through the semester, he stopped teaching. Instead he gave us take-home assignments and showed movies. And not really films that had anything to do with US History. Major League, Dog Day Afternoon, all the classics.

It should be noted that 90% of her class is Mexican-American, so they probably view Bennie "The Jet" Rodriguez as a cultural hero. Much moreso than Teddy Duchamp. And Stand By Me has no Wendy Peffercorn equivalent.

Do you guys know any friends he has in Savannah? First thing is to obviously have one of them check on him and if he's physically ok then split the cost of 2 plane tickets amongst the other 9 of you and get the friend to buy the two tickets and fly out with him even if it requires something absurd.

My best friend's then-fiancee set a bunch of ground rules for the bachelor party that I was throwing. Biiiiiiiiiig gaaaaaaaaaaay. He was enough of a cuckold to definitely tell her if I ended up taking the party to a strip club.

Also her bachlorette party ended up crashing and burning and he had to go in the middle of the party to deal with it.

Unsurprisingly she cheated on him while married. Also unsurprisingly they are still together.

Yeah oooooooookay buddy. How do people let this happen?

Also I totally disagree with everyone's ideas. **** the cuckold groom, just leave him in Savannah, you guys get wild in Vegas and write him off. Pretty simple.

Nahhhh.

There are like half a dozen times in your life where you are required to actually do something taxing from a friendship standpoint, even if it's all the other person being a huge lamer, you should probably step up to the plate.

Yeah definitely still go to Vegas. Y'all have probably been looking forward to it for weeks. Would be kinda weird though with no groom. Every night you should pick a different guy's name out of a hat to play the fake groom just so that it fits your theme of revelry and gets you the applicable attention wherever you go.

My sister told me that she would make sure I was invited the her fiance's bachelor party and I told her that I wouldn't go if that was the case. If he wants to invite me on his own I will probably decline, but there is an off chance I go. Just seems so awkward to be more loyal to the bride, but be on a bachelor party.

Noze, you're getting solid advice from everyone ITT.

This is a time where you've gotta sack up as a friend and do whatever you can to get that guy on that plane. For his own good.

And if you try everything you can and he won't go, then screw it, go to Vegas and have a blast.
