iirc its mostly nicer restaurants and a fair amount of stuff outside or near the perimeter which wont be good for people relying on cabs and drinking aggressively.

this is certainly what i'm looking for/will be doing. just going for a couple games with a buddy or two. hoping to get a cheapish hotel within walking distance and wanted to see what good bars were around. ty for the thread though will definitely check it out.

I wouldnt stay near the stadium. Its not a nice area. I would stay in Buckhead or Midtown depending on if you prefer to be really close to bars, steakhouses, and a few other restaurants (Buckhead) or walking distance from a ton of restaurants, brunch places, and clubs (Midtown). You can take MARTA to the games.
