Been ****ing around on Bovada the past few days. Easily the best part of the annon tables is trolling without consequence. I'm not really a talker at the tables but when someone is going on and on about a beat or something it's nice to be able to spout off with impunity.

It's also exceptionally soft.

edit: Although I'm too afraid to put any real money on since I may never get ti back, so I'm playing micros.

you can spout off with impunity at non-anonymous tables, too, bro

lol, can't wait to see the reactions of people who ask questions about venture capitalism and then hear someone talk about poker

"poker hedge fund" would be better (but make sure you keep the quotation marks in there)

Talking about staking people in poker would probably impress a decent amount of employers if you go into decent detail explaining the entire process and all the responsibilities to it.

Either that or they'd be so lost by your 5th word that they'd tune you out.

Good strategy. Make a joke of it before the employer gets a chance to.

Say you owned/operated a stable of horses. Some screen names probably sound like race horse names anyway.

i wasn't disagreeing with that, i was saying that you shouldn't try to disguise that it had to do with poker.

poker "venture capital fund" is fine i guess

think it prob depends on the job. like if you are applying to a quant trading firm you could just call it poker and they'd be intrigued. if you are applying to some private investment group led by some 50 year old dude he's less likely to be impressed and disguising it on the resume becomes a better idea.

yup, very job dependent. The unfortunate thing is that most people just wont get it or they'll equate poker with regular gambling.

Pretty sure employers will see right through that crap. If you try to make "poker player" sound more intriguing than it is they will laugh at you.

Someone years ago called themselves and "equity analyst" though which doesn't sound too awful I guess.
