Not wading into the height thread either because I already know the correct answer and don't care to debate otherwise. It's my height, 6'2", +/- an inch. Tall enough to maximize women opportunities but not so tall that I have to buy clothing at special stores or am even more cramped in small areas like airplane seats.

Like many things in life, it is only on the mind of those who don't have it.

I recently saw a documentary on dating or something, they were profiling a short guy who claimed that every inch shorter a guy is he needs to make $40K more/year to compensate in terms of attractiveness to women. Not sure at what height that number starts (e.g. I can't imagine Shawn Bradley is the ultimate alpha male) and can't remember where he got those numbers or how he arrived at them. BUT - no doubt it's true to some degree. Height offsets earnings shortcomings and vice versa. $40K seems way high though, not to mention it's an arbitrary figure that doesn't take things like cost of living into account.

I'm pretty sure a girl would choose a 5'7" guy who earns $70K a year over a 5'8" guy who earns $30K a year. Or a 5'9" guy who pays society $10K a year to not get hanged.

i'd buy that if it was over a lifetime or something but a year is laughable. There is no way the average woman would prefer a guy who is 5'10 and making 50k/yr in a job to one that is 5'7" and otherwise identical including field prestige, but makes 170k/yr.
