I don't think it's really like that, though. I'm sorry.

In Kaze's defense it really is like that, especially these days where bowling scores are through the roof compared to where they were 10-20 years ago. Take any able bodied, somewhat coordinated adult and give him a decent ball fit for his hand and an hour of good coaching and he's going to be averaging at least 150 or very close to in most [70% on the low side] cases.

My best ever was 249, but I was just at a 200 average in league before when I had a real good ball.

Trying to just throw with a normal ball now I do like 130. So I'm assuming the ball was to thank for me averaging 200, not my skill.

Yeah equipment these days makes it pretty hard for any physically healthy adult NOT to average 150+ these days assuming they are throwing a reactive ball of 14+ pounds drilled for their hand properly.

i find it really annoying when you are pissing somewhere public and someone comes up to a nearby urinal and strikes up convo

i don't even like it when friends do it at bars

Does anyone think that's normal behavior or does everyone find it annoying?

Seriously though as a beginner just work on keeping your legs under you and your head steady throughout your approach. Assuming you're right handed, you should be looking at around the second arrow off of the right gutter and your follow through should go straight through your target. If you hit the second arrow and your ball misses right, move your feet right. Move left if you hit your target and miss left. For spares you should be shooting ones on the right hand side of the lane with your feet way left in general and opposite for spares on the left side.

I tried spinning the ball last time I went and I'm pretty sure I was doing it wrong, though my brother was spinning them (had no idea he could) and he showed me the no thumb spin method. I was getting no spin on it and it was hurting my elbow.
