If you guys can't frat up for a day of awesome douchey fun at a horsetrack then I feel bad for you. I didn't go as far as those bros at the race I went to, but certainly went well beyond what I would ever normally wear in public.

Why, because Euros only work like 12 hours/week with 8+ weeks of vacation/year?

I opened that thread since the subject line was pretty dumb and was curious what the responses would be. I was pretty surprised that people were giving honest answers instead of mocking OP (which was presumably a troll) for whining about having a long commute for his first job.

Also of note, people were posting about their long workdays...while ostensibly posting from work.

Yeah I figured they would get a good chuckle about how long upwardly mobile young americans are expected to work.

Nah.. I'm actually back in school for a second (different, but related?) degree. I think the college landscape has changed since when I first graduated (2004), lots of people back in school that are older.

Also when PHB said he'd go back in time and change his first degree.. that exactly for me. I got my first degree because my parents wanted me to go to college without any consideration for what it meant. Sucks to have to reset a bit later in life to do something I'm actually passionate about. I'm glad I was willing to without doing jobs I hated forever, but still is a drag.

What are the first and second degrees here, if you don't mind my asking?

First was Speech Communications and Rhetoric, ended up in sales jobs forever. Was real successful but hated it, hated the hours, had no work/life balance.

Second is Human Nutrition and Dietetics, going to be a Registered Dietitian. Really excited about it, love the volunteer work I've done in the field.
