F it, I agree with tut.

Sandlot was kind of silly and I wouldn't dream of watching it again.

Stand by Me is absolutely the superior film.

Also, Super 8>Sandlot.

lolbaseball

Toy Story>Sandlot.

Although that one is way too obvious.

Where in Stand By Me do they fear a crazy monster dog, in a mysterious and unvisited, fenced off backyard?

Spoiler:
Sandlot was my childhood, whereas SBM was not. It's simple as that.

I really enjoy Shawshank, but can understand why others think it's overrated. It wouldn't be in my top 10. The Shawshank is for teenagers/I liked it when I was 15 comments are pretty meh though.

The nostalgia factor for Sandlot is pretty high for me, so I love it. The amusement park scene with whatever the awesome song is that plays during it could put me in a good mood on the ****tiest of days.

Never seen Stand By Me, which is pretty unacceptable. 8.1 on IMDB for a cast that young, must be pretty epic.

I watched Sandlot probably 5+ times as a kid at least.

I watched Stand By Me for the first time last year.

F childhood memories, Stand By Me is a great ****ing film.

The Sandlot is a slightly above average film that basically copycats the genre originated a few years earlier by the far superior Stand By Me. It's cute and watchable but unspectacular. Sorry if I just crapped on your childhood.

Argo winning is a complete travesty, probably the worst winner in awhile.

Thought Argo was good but pretty weak if that was the best film of 2012.

And since somebody mentoined chillhood memories.... they showed My girl, yesterday on one of our local tv's.... god dammit that was a good movie/ still is

Also. What is the name of that movie in which kids go find a corpse on the railroad track(it ends up with everybody vommiting or something like that). That was a great movie.

I really don't think it is the politics that led Argo to winning. It is that the academy loved to see a movie about Hollywood helping save people.
