Another reason megathread >>> monthly threads is that it keeps the elite thread OP on the first page.

I mostly just like the continuity and coherence of keeping it all in one thread, though. Motifs and such. Easier, when we discuss a topic, to scroll back and find the previous discussion(s) on that identical topic. The whole thread becomes an interesting artifact.

Plus, monthly wouldn't make sense for this thread.

A better cycle system would be every time Radiohead debate comes up we could start a new thread. Would give us quarterly threads, and much more in tune with the flow of the thread.

There was a 6 or 7 month period or so where we did have monthly threads. They got like ~150ish posts back in 2010. It just so happened that this thread finally evolved into the true low content thread which worked out much better. FWIW we didn't have stupid titles, because, lol at that dumbass ****.

Not to bring up POG too frequently, but I just employed the dkgo [banned software] method of excellent 2+2 usage, and my POG first page now has 6 non-stickied threads and 8 total threads. 2 are sign-ups that will be gone soon.

SE has like thirty or something.
