yeah I edited to clarify. I'd only actually say "we're acquainted" jokingly about an actual close friend, otherwise it's awkward as you mention. But, like chim said, when I'm tallying up "friends" outside of that situation, the "had a class with, see 2x a year" people don't really count imo.

CDL lives in a world where everyone's either his close friend or dead to him. overly dramatic, if you ask me

This discussion is hitting way too close to home. Currently planning my wedding in Louisiana though both the wifey and I are from Michigan and moved down here 6 months ago. Inviting ~200+ people and realistically expecting less than 100, which we are perfectly fine with. I'm 24 she is 23.

Well this is certainly awkward. I'm more real than the actual CDL

CDL's social relationship theories are overly complicated and confusing? Color me shocked.

I think we're going to need a definition of "best friend". Because in most cases, the person closest to you is also considered your best friend. And if you're in a relationship, you're most likely closest to your that person, thus making them your best friend.

Unless I'm missing something...?

When you're 15 you're closest to your siblings/parents but they probably aren't your best friends

wat? most 15 year olds aren't close to their parents at all. Thats around the age where people tend to be most distant from their parents imo.
