Because it's they way I'm guessing the vast majority of people would opt to pronounce it when shown the word?

I mean we don't have a really solid metric to use here and English (and an old Gallagher bit) is full of funny pronunciation rules (tomb=toom, Comb=cOm) but I can't see many people jumping to Nayth when shown "nath" on a flash card or something.

if he does go by nayth instead of nate IRL, that's bizarre but to each his own

relating to the screen name, when pronouncing it, i could not give two ****s about what one's IRL name is, and it shouldn't matter anyway since the only time it's being pronounced is inside people's heads as they're reading the forum
