But Oliphant and Al Swearengen and a bunch others are so so good that it's easy to look past the duds.
olyphant sucks, his character is awesome but he just gets acted off the screen next to SWEEGIN or pretty much anyone

Doc, Dan, Buffalo Bill, Jane, the widow and Trixie are real good, borderline elite

I know people give PVN a lot of crap here, but it was cool to see him break character when they gave him a hat.

This is possibly our slowest day at work ever.

I've already exhausted all my internet surfing options and it's not even 8 AM yet. I'm here until 4.

Anything out there worth a read that I might not know about?

I guess we've moved on to books.

I'm about a third into The President's Club. Pretty awesome and definitely recommend for anyone into presidential history.

Deals with the relationship of sitting presidents with living former presidents, from Truman to Obama.

Lotta truth here. McShane GOAT, lol Olyphant particularly.

Fun fact, Ian McShane was David Milch's third choice to play Al Swearengen.

Second choice:

I was a math major, not in business school during college so I wouldn't have gotten exposed to it there. I guess somehow I had never seen it posted by anyone on a poker forum before, or I did and just glossed over it.

Had no idea it was that popular of a piece.

It basically looks like a bunch of stuff most people already know but probably don't apply nearly as well to their own lives.

Completely baffled that so many people who are otherwise often right think Last Crusade > Raiders. LC was a fine film but not remotely in the same ballpark. It's like comparing Sidney Moncrief to Magic Johnson.

Also, interesting tidbit about the casting for Sweegin.

Raiders is the better movie, but Last Crusade is more fun. Plus, and this could be anecdotal, but it feels like Last Crusade was on TV all the time in the mid to late 90s and Raiders was locked away in a vault somewhere.

missed the circle jerk, but happy holidays to everyone, even to the worst of posters.

man, cali is just the goat, im probably going to cry when i have to go back to minny. girls have such great style here and care about their appearance. They are laid back and always down for a good time.

Family and friends are also goatish. i love how when you have great friends and family - much time elapses - but you pick up like no time has passed. Easy to forget sometimes.

if anyone is in the serra-nevada area and wants to hit the slopes - that would be epic. i think im going to engage in some morning/afternoon drinking and hit the terrain park. ive broken my wrist and collarbone boarding in the past, but im still confident. Everyone stay blessed.

Are they so laid back that they put out after a night of pizza and Jaeger following a conspicuously placed 100% tip?

Maybe rights distribution was a factor? I imagine Last Crusade was quite a bit cheaper than Raiders of the Lost Ark if priced out individually. But yeah, fun movie and Connery was great. A good bounceback from the dark and depressing Temple of Doom.

There were movies like that for me growing up and into the 90s that were on HBO constantly which became period pieces that I probably overrate as a result. Breakfast Club. St. Elmo's Fire (this isn't a very good movie in retrospect but at the time it had a certain resonance, probably because of the cast). Poltergeist. What About Bob? Raising Arizona. They were on often enough that I could recite them line for line after awhile.
