Obviously if somebody tells you something in an understood (and not just assumed) confidence, sharing that information isn't cool. I guess my objection is more that there seem to be people for whom "don't snitch/rat/narc/post report/whatever" is an overarching approach and really it's a lot more nuanced- but that's probably more people just flapping their gums and saying silly things than anything they actually believe.
