i'm reading the thread now. adam and jimmy were two of my first friends in the poker world. sucks that something like this is happening, no matter who's right or wrong.
always liked those 2. kinda an odd couple. thought they both meant well. would be a shame if something did go wrong

Hey all, not sports related but I'd like to invite you all to PM me their top 10 films of all time - in order. I'm making an Ultimate Lounge Film Ranking list and would like as many participants as possible.

All you have to do is PM me your top ten.

Maybe this forum will get a bigger percentage of sports movies...

I'll make a few changes to my previous list. Replace Solaris with Showgirls, and Vivre Sa Vie with C'est une phrase que je tape dans traduire, que je vais ensuite traduire en français, le résultat étant un titre de film de long-cul que penis ne peut comprendre, si je ne me sous-estimer le nombre de personnes qui parlent le français ici: 2.

Should have known it would be impossible for this forum to discuss something that serious / tragic in a reasonable manner

I mean the only reasonable manner would be not to discuss it until more details come out. Til then it's always going to be assumptions and segues

But as long as we're going to discuss it there's been nothing said yet that isn't standard for immediate murder-suicide discussion

Calling MT2R a drug dealing rapist probably wasn't the wisest of decisions if you're trying to play the reasonable card though

Well, I was just making a point about the ironing of a guy with a track record like that, who insists he got a raw deal, rushing to judge anyone else. I don't really think he is one, but he could sure as **** use a little perspective.

Yeah, I got that. Just seems irrelevant and overly provocative if you're trying to keep things reasonable.

It wasn't especially reasonable, but I get angry when people judge someone who clearly has (had ) real problems, possibly including CTE, as though everything is super black and white and he's twirling his mustache and shooting people for laughs. I would think MT2R of all people, based on his experience, would understand everything is NOT black and white.

Not to mention there's really no point in being like "good, **** that murderer" unless doing so makes you feel better about yourself, which indicates something really wrong with you.

Have you seen any forums with an average member age of ~25 y/o, or whatever, pull this off? That's not a rhetorical question. I'm curious.

I don't think so, but that's in large part due to how the anonymity of the internet protects people from the consequences of what they say. You have to actually find people who want to have reasonable discussions about the manner.

I'm just glad none of these "**** that murderer" people were around when my friends died. (No, none of them killed other people, but I'm sure they could find something to judge them over.)

Yeah, see, the problem here is there are thousands of other murderers who I'm sure you'd be quick to label scum who could be said to have similar psychological problems. The incident is tragic, no doubt, but you honestly can't be surprised that someone doesn't feel compassion for someone who killed another person before taking their own life. And if you are going to jump to conclusions of his mental health, then it's also unreasonable for you to not expect others to judge him as a murderer.
