It's an improvement over the status quo, and ain't nothing going to get by the likely republican senate in 2013.

ya i dunno, it seems a few months ago yall were saying that there would be a good deal in the near future. yall were saying that the big casinos did well by lying in wait and now conditions would be favorable.

its just like, yall are really shortsighted about these things. whatever way the wind is blowing yall just run with it.

i dunno, its dumb to blame america. one side wants it one way and is willing to fight for it, the other side wants it the other but is willing to bend over and take it. lol dems.

i think it's totally fine to blame America as long as the lawmakers keep doing **** to infringe on the rights of private citizens for no reason other than a moralistic hardon for controlling everyone's behavior.

Treating it as a rights issue might be true in some sense, but it kinda ignores all the more messy financial reasons it hasn't been legalized yet. Would it be more correct to suggest that the reason online poker is not currently legal is more because they haven't figured out how to allow the government to regulate and monetize it yet moreso than for moral reasons?

No.

The big motivating factor right now is the DOJ's re-interpretation of the Wire Act.

That doesn't count as (I don't know) "figure out how to regulate"

5. pokerstars can't return for 5 years minimum

edit: don't get me wrong, it's better than the current format, but it is absurdly worse than pre-uiega days. i mean, it's worse than uiega-BF days
I have a hard time imagining #5 being constitutional. I mean without seeing the verbiage I don't know, but that certainly looks a lot like post hoc punishment.
