Actually, this is the primary reason I dislike fantasy football and NCAA brackets. And yes, I get the value and prevalence of "casual fans" to major league sports, but that doesn't make them any less obnoxious when they desperately pretend like they give a **** about that sport just to have one more inane topic to discuss at the water cooler.

What the **** is this, that's a terrible attitude. Some people have different levels of caring about things, I'm the casualest of casual soccer fan but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy discussing it when something big is going on.

You're taking sports hipsterdom to the extreme.

I am 99% sure this doesnt ever happen. I was watching the Duke vs. Lehigh game this year and I dont think a single other person in the sports bar was rooting for Duke with me. I even had a bunch of them tell me that they didnt care if it ruined their bracket.

Yeah it definitely happens. March Madness is one of the few sporting events I prefer to watch with crowds and all the brackettards want their upsets to come in so they can brag about them.
