i think another thing missing this year is there's no rookies you really care about but in previous years there was one or two guys i would keep checking to see if they got cut or not

the undrafted tight end, les, and 7/11 chris hogan are like the only rooks i care about. the other rookie te michael agnew looks to suck, and the te coach is always on his ass. it'd be nice if he made some plays to redeem himself, other than blocking down the field.

we just had a teacher sent to prison for 5-20 years for having sex with an emotionally disturbed 15 year old... 5 years with 18 year olds seems like a big stretch

Not saying I agree or disagree with the law, but obv the public policy behind it is the teachers are in such a dominant position of authority over students that exploiting that (state-created) edge for sexual pursuits is considered an immoral and undesirable act. Obviously the students here had reached the age of majority, but since school is still seen as something where, regardless of age, "children" act like they are under the age of majority, the punishments are harsher.

If they were under the age of consent (whatever that is in Texas, prob 18), then I'm fairly certain she'd be going to jail for a much longer time.

No one expressed confusion such that they didn't understand the basis for the law. They understand it. They just didn't understand why someone has to go to PRISON for 5 YEARS for violating it.

I mean, someone like that clearly shouldn't be a teacher, but lol @ 5 years in prison.

maybe teachers unions should focus on this imbalance rather than playing hardball to secure 150K a year pensions at age 45 on the taxpayer's dime
