Sucks bobbo... I have 2 cats who are 18 and 14. The 18 yr old is deaf and def slowing down, we thought she might die when we left for a 2 week vacation a month ago.

We had to put down our dog earlier this year, he was 12 I think. Good luck.

I had been at the vet earlier, where they basically said I needed to rush my older cat to said animal hospital. She's there now and they are unclear how bad it is (decent chance of cancer; if I'm lucky, it's a fungal infection, which is also pretty severe), and the truth is the bills for treatment or so are insanely exorbitant. In any event, I'm pretty miserable about this, since I am pretty sure she will die soon. Which in some ways is worse than her actually dying, since now I'm just anticipating it. Sorry to post this here, but it seemed like a decent place for it. Anyway, carry on.
Wow dude, sorry. That's really ****ty.

She's just 7.5, which is all that much worse. That's still relatively young.

It's really awful because it's a lot of money. When they showed me an estimate, I was floored. More expensive than people.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. No joke, the reason I kept my post uncharacteristically short is that as I was writing it my cat crawled up on me and I couldn't type anymore. He's a little over six years old. I just figure that he'll live to around 20 like most indoor cats.

Pretty sure that 7.5 isn't quite 50 years old in "people years".

Anyway, Good Luck - please let us know how it goes.

I didn't really realize how much I'd love my cats until I got them, and now I have moments where I almost regret it just because I know that someday (I hope I guess) I'll have to see them go. That really sucks Bobbo- rooting for the best.

Next spring I want to either get a puppy or a kitten, probably 2. My kids love it when we go somewhere and they have cats.

I feel i've learned a lot from my flushing days. IMO.

I just don't know if I could bring myself to be a "cat" person though.

Just seems like there's some much more companionship with dogs....that and your house won't smell.

mine had to be put down due to cancer a few months ago. decision was easy though because she was ridiculously old.

one thing to keep in mind, cats do not go through what humans do when on treatment; they are made of sterner stuff.

Weird my cat/dog experiences have been the exact opposite. Also there has been startling new developments in the world of cat litter. Some of that **** actually smells pleasant when pissed on by a cat. Chemical reactions and all of that ****.

Makes my house smell faintly of oranges/citrus-y when pissed on.

Sorry bobbo
