godfather 3 was a perfectly fine movie, sofia coppola's just a god awful actress

not to mention a woman does the main killing mid-battle.

I liked all three though, and just saw a preview of The Hobbit today which I described as "the best part of The Dark Knight Rises" which was true, because though I liked the movie nothing in it got me as hype as seeing that preview.

edit: mostly a shame cuz two towers is the best book of the trilogy.

Haha...saw that preview when I went and saw Spiderman and I felt the same way. Hobbit was my favorite book out of Tolkien's.

Huh, I think it's the weakest by a lot. The first half of it is pretty great. The Sam/Frodo half is almost completely unreadable after the first time. All of the trudging through Mordor is boring right up until they hit Shelob's lair. The other two books stand up much better to repetition, which at this point is the main way I remember them.

I'd probably rank them 3>1>>2.

Got tickets to see TDKR in IMAX tonight. I'll be very disappointed if I don't get to see the trailer in IMAX.

They showed it when I went, so you should. They also showed Skyfall and Man of Steel. Skyfall looks absurdly good so far.

Also, TDKR was excellent, though I'm still not sure if it matches TDK. Bain is a great character though, I don't care what people say to the contrary.

i really just dont care for craig as bond. I didnt care for casino royal and quantum was ****ing awful. So im pretty much anticipating skyfall to suck.

I like the Godfather 3. Peoples expectations were just to high.

This seems to be the popular opinion, but I've never bought the argument for it being terrible. I admit I didn't care for it the first time I saw it, but really liked it the second time. Some of the director's choices were just sort of out there for a Bond film. It was also pretty lean, but I thought it worked as a straight up action-revenge flick that managed to build on some of the loose emotional ends Bond had from the last film (I wish they'd pursued this further though, that's why I'm so interested in the next one given the director). Also, compared to just about any Roger Moore movie, I think Quantum stands up pretty well within the series. I get if you hated it because of Craig though, some of the actors just don't work for people when it comes to 007 movies.

Well, it's not like it gave away much about the plot, but I thought the cinematography in that reel was gorgeous.

Although I realize it's an unpopular opinion, I liked Die Hard 2 the best of the three. Yeah it was full of contrivance but it was also full of action. It may help that I saw it in a theater when it first came out, it was around the holidays and the whole seasonal thing worked.

Nobody is going to agree in entirety with the gif that etats posted, however I think it's really close to consensus and I agree with it for the most part.

Also, saw TDKR today and I hate to be that guy again but found it extremely MEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. One fairly substantial issue is that I couldn't figure out what the **** Bane was saying. Also, far too much reliance on the staple of bad movies where instead of just insta-killing, the bad guy lectures and stalls too long, then help arrives "just in the nick of time" to save the day.
