pcs are just better. macs do some things exceptionally well, but pcs just crush overall.
yah agreed, I basically bought 2 laptops and gave one to my sister for the price of a Mac

macs are lol overpriced but students (mostly women) who use nothing but facebook and word processor still buy them because they think they are "creative"

kinda goat marketing to sell an inferior product for over 2x as much

I have a friend who runs resource intensive simulations and he says he would be ****ed without his mac. I hear they are also good for rendering videos.

Apart from that, lol macs.

My roommate has attempted to argue that it's worth paying the Mac premium because the computers are aesthetically pleasing.

seems fine to me. ppl value aesthetics on clothes, purses, backpacks, cars and i dont think the computer is any different of an accessory.

personally, i dont give much crap about appearance, but macs are undeniably more portable and easier to physically handle.

Is that the sound of a sucker who paid $1200 more than he needed to trying to justify his purchase?

I THINK IT IS!

I've had much better experiences with my mac than windows. Hell, for awhile in my house the windows computers wouldn't connect to the wireless no matter what I did while the macs did just fine.

So I only made like $10k in total income last year, and it is all with 2 different firms on 1099-MISC forms. Is there somewhere I can file these online for free? I can file them with HR Block for $34.95, but I don't really feel like paying $34.95 when I likely won't have to pay that in taxes to the govt.

Have you tried TurboTax online? I seem to remember doing alright with 1099 stuff there.

Phoenix TR:

I stayed in Glendale with family, to attend my cousins wedding. Nice 7000 square foot house with a very nice guest house. The houses are amazing there; but that's where it stops. I don't get how you can live in a place that lacks real grass. It's all rocks and sand everywhere!!!

Went to the Diamondback/Giants game; 8 errors and the home team coming from behind to win is always a recipe for a fun time. They have petty good stadium hot dogs, and even better; they have a chant that sounds very similar to "LETS GO D-BAGS!".

Shooting range was a blast; as a Canadian, this was something that I had ranked pretty high on my things to do list. Clay shooting with a 12 gauge shot gun was awesome; and I did a lot better then I expected to do. Could've spent the whole day there.

Other than that; bleh.

Last 3 days, we decided to take a road trip through the grand canyon (very nice, but you can't really stay longer then 1 or 2 hours). Carried on through to Vegas. Stayed at the Venetian. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I just hate the idea of having to walk through the smoke filled casino (especially with my pregnant wife), just to get to the hotel elevators. Played a little roulette at the Bellagio, then moved to poker at the Venetian (around 4am) while practically falling asleep at the table. Lost my stack to an old Asian lady on a K23 board with two diamonds, she 4-bet all in with AA. I had A5 of diamonds. I didn't get there. (she apologized for winning! ) gg.

Overall, would not recommend Phoenix to anyone for vacation; but for living; if you're not big on grass, it's great. Seems to have a very good standard of living and overall, nice people and great investment opportunities (with land being so cheap now).
