just call an auto shop an get it fixed, ffs

i had a very similar problem with mine, i called a place and they towed it, fixed the problem. The problem returned so I called them back. They towed it and looked at it again for free, and fixed the new problem for free since they ****ed up the first time. not all auto repair shops are run by douchebags.

i usually do this but right now there is no rush to get it fixed. i figured with my brain and available resources i could avoid paying the money to get it towed, for labor, and for the part markup. theoretically. ideally. as it is, im out 200 on a part i didnt need. but i will still come out way ahead if i can figure it out from here. and i will learn something which i already have.

ok we have established warranties is -ev. now there is utility and quality of life and sample size etc. we are talkin about a car. the most it costs for a warranty qualifying repair is like 5k. and really it will be like 3k if u shop around but whatever.

point is, we arent talkin life changing amounts of money. and the difference in warranty cost and repair cost runs pretty damn close anyway.

do you warranty ur computer?

Victor, the problems with mine were the fuel injection was clogged and the idle airflow sensor was shot. The symptoms were the exact same as yours.

Anyone have an idea about where to set the line on the following bet:

Eating 70 Taco Bell Soft Tacos in a 24 hour period
-No vomiting at any time up to 1 hour after the bet
-Can eat/drink anything besides the tacos at any time (includes drugs)

Having tried this before with the goal at 100, I'm thinking for a non-competitive eater it's virtually impossible, but a buddy insists he can do it. Any idea?

That's 14,000 calories worth of tacos. 3 an hour seems doable, but then so does every other food bet that is impossible.

Don't know the odds, but it sounds pretty tough. On your side I'd be worried about a drug angle even though I can't think of any drugs that would help him a ton.

Are they the same size as the little Mighty Taco soft shells? (they're like $1> or w/e) I haven't eaten at TB in a long time, that's why I'm asking.

Does he have to eat them all with the lettuce/tomato/hot or medium/white looking sauce, or however he wants? (think this matters)

Because if they're just plain beef/cheese and them real small ones (like 3 decent sized bites each?) I think it can be done without coming that close to throwing up over 24hrs.

See that's the part everyone calculates when they think they can do it, "It's less than 3 an hour, what's the problem??"

When the first guy tried to do 100, he lost at 24 because he said it felt like he had a lump of taco in his stomach that wasn't going anywhere and because his mouth had become numb from the seasoning they use.

Tacos like that just don't keep to the usual 8-10 hour eat-to-excrete schedule, they tend to hang around.

Probably similar.

He can eat them however he wants, so long as they have the meat, lettuce, cheese and shell. If he wants to use sauce/tomatoes/etc that's on him.

Yeah I'm thinking 70 is approaching possible, but the mass of 70 tacos is really considerable when you stack them up.

Parts of it LDO. From experience the first few tacos are predictable boring, but later in the bet, you get to see that really enjoyable form of human suffering and regret that's limited to bets.

Well, he should try and eat like 5 hot ones, and then like 5+ cold (or room temp.) ones to see which is easier for him to get and keep down. I'd do that a few days prior to the bet, just to prep for it.

But the more I think about it, the less chance I think he has of getting it done without throwing up. All that grease is going to catch up to him at some point.

btw what kind of odds is he getting? and how much are yall putting up each?

Well that's what I'm trying to figure out. We're balling very much in control so we're not betting thousands on this, but it'll be something similar to us buying the tacos and if he loses we get paid back and get to enjoy his suffering, if he wins, we'll give him like $100-200 dollars, plus a bonus for each additional taco he can eat.

Obv we're not in this to make money, just to watch him harm himself, but if we can find anyone who will take his side, I'd like to bet on that as well (which is why I need a reasonable line)

Ya, I figured it was some kind of friendly thing. I've been involved in a cpl of these.

We had a friend claiming he could put down 1 whole gallon of ice cream (inside 2.5 hours) and he failed massively by trying to eat it too fast. That and he chose cookie dough.

Same guy made $180 by eating a spider. We were at a camping site drinking years ago, and 9 of us put up $20 each, and he had to eat the biggest one any of us could find. He just soaked it in beer and chomped on it. Pretty sick but worth the laugh.

Then we laid my friends kid brother 5:1 that he couldn't eat 7 (plain) double cheeseburgers from mcdonalds. (inside 35 mins) Actually thought he'd finish for a while, but he tanked at the end of 5.

There's been some other ones too.
