How is Timothy Olyphant in Justified? I thought he was the weakest actor out of all the main characters in Deadwood, though to be fair he was up against some goatish performances

i still like the show a lot. it's more that it's really really similar to sealab than i think a show can't be good unless it's trying new things. since i've seen all the episodes of sealab multiple times i think archer loses a little something for me.

he is completely upstaged by walton goggins.

olyphant does play barely concealed rage quite well though which is pretty much all that both roles called for.

His performance is pretty ass. But also bad. It combines well.

eta: agree with phildo that Goggins is better, but Olyphant is kind of the center that allows for a lot of other really fun performances around him (goggins, Nick Searcy as his boss, Margo Martindale as the big bad in S2, Neal McDonough this season)

it's more like if mitchell hurwitz did another show about a rich, dysfunctional, clueless family but instead of shady real estate development they got their money through ponzi schemes or some ****. even if it was hilarious i'd still get a lot of backlash for unoriginality.
