It's fine. I certainly will have one from time to time but I don't give a **** about microbrews having been a poor college student when I did the bulk of my drinking in Cleveland.

lol victoar, false. you were arguing with somebody else (Franchise I think) that all hefeweizens were terrible. I commented that IPAs are not the only beers worth drinking and used some hyperbole that you decided to misinterpret. I like IPAs and other hoppy beers.

ikes, your claim that "it's not popular outside of Philly" is ****ing lol. Is it a Philly "thing" and most popular there? obviously, the brewery is close by. But considering that it's distributed in 14 states and DC, clearly many people are enjoying it. i guess we should trust your authority tho, you sound really knowledgable with many credible sources

Yuengling is popular enough here in NYC. Available in most supermarkets and I'd say in about 30-50% of bars.

It is definitely very or even most popular in Philly, every friend I have from Philly raves about it and when I go out there it seems to be the choice beer every time.

The idea that it isn't drank elsewhere is lol though.

Almost every bar in Myrtle beach had Yuengling on tap. I guess a lot of Philadelphia people must travel to Myrtle. That and...well...I've never lived in Philly.

Yuengling is a solid lower-tier beer. I'd put it ahead of Budweiser and the like, but it is what it is. Anyone raving about Yuengling as more than that would have their taste in beer judged accordingly.

Yup yup. If its mediocrity has expanded into fandom elsewhere good for them I guess.

Yuengling coming to Atlanta was a huge deal, especially in college

it was drank exclusively and in excess for quite some time

F60 is right, it's good value and hard to hate too much on unless you jus snobbin'

also, some of the best American-made beer are IPAs

Who cares if hipsters drink them? You don't have to hang with hipsters while you drink them.

I hardly drank Yuengling after college because i was burnt out from it but I've been buying it the past couple months. Can usually get a case for like 17, 18 bucks which is a pretty great deal.

It's pretty much my go to cheap lager now when I'm not drinking the expensive IPA's and such, which I've been trying to cut back on a bit.

Don't really think anyone is saying Yuengling is a top class beer. Just that bang for buck and all it is pretty ELIte compared to other beers that are $10 or less for a 12 pack.

I lived in upstate NY for about 6 months and I remember Yuengling being fine although not really anything to write home about. Perfectly acceptable if you're having a few or more than a few.
