Damn, well put. A better way to say my post that scared jmill is that he was that guy, is still proud of it and, despite being the guy that actively drew a double walk, mocks his opponents for taking it too seriously.

I appreciate your concern, but I assure you, despite the fact that I took that walk, I have gone back to a normal life and am a survivor.

Re: the PM. While I was being sincere, that was a bit of a social experiment I was trying that week with a few posters. I was wondering if there was perhaps a better way to deal with trolling and/or posters who seem to routinely hate, so I tried the PM "timeout let's talk about it" route. I had a lot of free time that week, and was curious if I could apply the same thing to dealing with moderation, rather than using the infraction/callout method, as well as dealing with personal trolling or whatever.

If you don't believe me, I am sure tuq can verify, as he and I were discussing my concept in PMs at the time. I sent him a message and told him what I was going to try that week to see what he'd think, as I knew he was dealing with some trollhate at the time too. IIRC he told me he thought it was a waste of time and wouldn't work, but I saw some good results elsewhere. I shared with him some of the results, but I don't think I ever shared your PM.

I'm not really talking about co-ed beer-league softball, really. Certainly has nothing to do with being manly. If you want to take a walk then I think it's lame and borderline angleshooting, but whatever. The thing that struck me was how proud of yourself you were, and clearly still are based on the way you told the story. Congrats, you knew the basic rules of the game and nitted your way to victory! Again, I'm not criticizing because it's unmanly or non-alpha-male but the extent to which you are patting yourself on the back.

Then there's the troll's freeroll. You took the game seriously enough to draw a walk without swinging the bat in co-ed beer-league softball yet your enjoyment was in mocking people who took the game too seriously. I'm fine with trolling, and certainly talking **** in something like intramural softball, but taking the who-so-serious line when you clearly care just as much, if not more, is just stupid and annoying. Why do you think epi was so unpopular?

Interesting that you lead with a bragging tone and then when you got called out you switched to this.
Ok I read it. I am absolutely baffled that you can take a post someone made on an internet forum about something he did while playing softball drunk in college 5 years ago that was really funny this serious. That's... honestly a little scary.

It was really funny. I made the post knowing I'd get hate for it, and I was fine with the hate I got. It was entertaining. I thought kyleb's post and whoever called me an angleshooter were especially hilarious. I shared both posts with my friends who were on the team and we got a good laugh out of it.

Apparently, however, the walkoff double walk is something you have found great offense to. I apologize for that.

edit - although I do appreciate you blurring out the PM and the time you took to send a lengthy response. Your thoughts were very helpful to figuring out what I was trying to accomplish.

i mean honestly dude, lol @ the people reacting that way to a story from a beer league softball game from 5 years ago when everyone was drunk. have you ever acted like a tool drunk? have you ever told the story later to amuse people? did they all psychoanalyze you too?! you guys are either insane or bored. im both, personally.

No one is taking offense. We just can't put ourselves in the shoes of a man that could willingly act that way. Though years later, understanding your proclivities make it a little more understandable.

i mean bro. i was a drunk 21yo fat kid on a softball team that had lost every game. i wasnt exactly out there trying to be mr. stud athlete and thinking in a rational state of mind.

the reason i tell the story is because people laugh at it. the reason it's funny is because what i did is stupid. like... isnt telling stories of stupid crap people will laugh at you did in college but wouldnt do now sort of standard? LDO. i didnt realize it was such serious bizzz.

i get that pretty well. that's why it's funny. i understand you guys probably never did anything dumb in college, but im not so concerned about my manhood that i worry about relaying the time i took a walk in a softball game.

thankfully i dont find my self worth in the actions i took 5 years ago when playing co-ed drunk rec softball.

it was supposed to be for your entertainment. yes i realize i looked really dumb doing it, but i have enough self-confidence that my ego can handle a little self-deprecating humor! if you cant laugh at yourself, you cant enjoy life. it doesnt make me a pathetic person . Other things might, but certainly not this!

if i posted that i did coke off a hooker's ass while hitting a home run, would that be better!

If your ego is so healthy, why are you defending yourself so much? This whole discussion is about 3 posts long if your first two responses weren't essentially "I thought it was cool" and then "why so serious?"

Yeah we all have college stories about dumb **** we did, but when people respond with "what a moron", the response is "ldo" not "no u!"

if you recall correctly, i responded with a reference to jack cust, batting average and a gif of a man dancing in a zebra suit.

as i said before, that was funny. but then jaredL got all serious bizzzzz psycho analysis, so i felt the need to respond to that. that's natural. someone who thinks im IRL a pathetic person for relaying a story from beer league softball 5 years ago obviously is seeing something wrong, so im going to try to point that out. despite the convenience of "he's defensive! aha! he must be lying!" as an argument, it's a dishonest stance to take.

oh BOY was i mad. i remember that. i had QT and you had AJ (for ace high) and it was a k high board and i fps'd the crap out of you and you snapped me off for like 300 into a 400 pot or something like that.

so of course, my instant reaction is to race to BBV at lightspeed and make a thread about how dumb villain is. and you were the first person to reply to it.
