So I play in a coed soccer league for fun with some old college friends on sunday. I play goalie, and this girl on the other team decided that she could just hit me whenever she wanted because, well, she's a girl. She cleated me on my arm (whatever happens, but I still have a nasty bruise today), gave me a pretty big goosebump on my leg (errr ok), and then came in really late and tried to knee me in the groin.

I warned her that if she came in close again she'd regret it. Sure enough, kinda close play, I pick the ball up. Instead of relaxing I raise both my elbows up, she runs her chest right into it, falls over and bitches at me for 'hitting' a girl.

Too harsh se? Or deserved?

Also, I hate coed leagues when girls get like this, fun otherwise.

Dr. Ikes she probably has a crush on you. And who doesn't really. <3 <3 <3

MOVIE REVIEW TIME: over the weekend saw a couple of films that were very well received but I'd never gotten around to watching them.

Jackie Brown: this was a decent film and worth watching but that's the extent of the praise I'm willing to extend. Not sure how it got such lavish praise (one reviewer on RT actually said it was better than Pulp Fiction. wtf hell no). It seems that the problem with this film is the same problem that P.T. Anderson had with Magnolia: fresh off of critically acclaimed hits they made bloated movies that would have been much better if someone had checked their ego and trimmed about a half an hour. Also, the film just kind of had a weird vibe...a comedy of sorts with murder, but not executed nearly as well as Pulp Fiction. And the DeNiro and Bridget Fonda sidekick characters were just weird and out of place. Again, not terrible but don't get the hype.

Black Swan: a better name would have been "Bitches Be Crazy" because every single woman in it was looney tunes. Decent, bizarre, Kunis character was hot. Portman came across as unsexy as possible but I guess that was kind of the point. Maybe it's because I'm about as artistic as an excel spreadsheet but it didn't do much for me. Even the "lezbo" scene was a disappointment (only watched once, didn't touch myself).

It's likely that my potential enjoyment of these films was crushed under the weight of expectations.

Quentin Tarrantino movie rankings (all get thumbs up from me):

1. Kill Bill (I'm considering it one movie. Even more rewatchable than PF)
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Inglorious Basterds
4. Reservoir Dogs
5. Deathproof
6. Jackie Brown

Django Unchained is supposedly being released this Christmas. Supposedly Kill Bill vol 3 is gonna be released in 2014.

Other people's legs. Idiots in house soccer always kick the ball too far ahead on breakaways and then try and get one final kick in rather than jump over the goalie as I dove to cover the ball, so it's really their fault. I also remember the very first basketball game I played in third grade, I knocked a kid over while boxing out and they had to take him out on a stretcher with his neck immobilized. I have no idea what happened to that kid, so I assume he's not paralyzed, either that or they didn't feel like telling a third grader that he paralyzed someone. I chipped a bone on my big toe once, that's it on my end, but don't anyone else get in my way

The Town is better than Jackie Brown imo. I mostly agree with Clark's rankings on the Tarentino movies. Jackie Brown is fun to watch once, but it's not some major classic or anything and LOL at it being better than Pulp Fiction.

I'd probably go

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Kill Bill
3. Inglorious Basterds

But I flip on that from time to time. Inglorious Basterds has sick rewatchability, much like Pulp Fiction.

I think you are overstating how well recieved Jackie Brown is. So some critc thought it was better than Pulp Fiction, some people think Intolerable Cruelty is better than The Big Lebowski. JB is bloated and QT forgot to check his ego at the door, but that's one of his trademarks.

My rankings
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Big gap
Kill Bill
Inglorious Basterds
Jackie Brown
