It's far from the first time this has happened.
People just get tired of hearing the media say the following phrases during nearly every NO televised game (which have been many, since Katrina hit):
"Winning this game would mean soo much for this city"
"This city has the best fans in all of football"
"This city loves Reggie Bush and Reggie Bush playing here and helping the community has been soo good for the NFL and the city"
"This city has rebuilt itself since Katrina hit and is stronger than ever, but there is still much work to do."
"You all remember what Katrina did to this stadium and Tom Benson blah blah blah..."
ad nauseum.
etc.... 6+ years after Hurricane Katrina.
Seriously, if the media stopped trying to tie in every god damn positive play/game with Katrina the haterz would have zero reasons to hate on the team/city. It's not quite as bad as calling the Cowboys "America's Team" though.
