I think the larger point is we should all be grateful to Meb. He was really the first serious mod here as the forum started to grow, and he did a great job setting the tone in terms of modding that exists here today. In large part due to him this is the best modded forum on 2p2.

He sent the mods an email in mid-December where he basically said he'd been thinking of quitting for quite some time, which I believe based on other conversation with him. I think it was a good thing for him. He quietly left, and I think deserves respect for that also.

Cliffs: Thanks Mebenhoe for like 6 years of service as the senior-most of the SE mods.

Wrong, when the poll was changed it was tied or +/- a vote either way, although I doubt the edit actually had any impact on the outcome. It was more likely variance that people who aren't legally blind showed up towards the end of the voting window.

Needless to say I didn't anticipate he would actually get upset over it or I wouldn't have made the edit. And I don't think that had more than 0.001% to do with his decision, it sounds like he had made up his mind already.

EDIT: I wasn't paying much attention to the whole Hope Solo / Alex Morgan debate when it happened, nor to this particular contest so wasn't aware of his emotional investment in Morgan. Which according to Franchise 60 evidently involves dolls made of real hair.

Well, hare krishnas aren't annoyed by people, but people are annoyed by hare krishnas. Meaning, my only beef with POG in my somewhat limited exposure to them is how they are always trying to get people lured to their forum or to play games there. It is like religion for the bored.

The more I think about it the more it seems like a dumb thing to be annoyed about but it sets off my agenda-dar regardless.
