My guess is that's from the modforum where all the RESPEKT MAH AUTHORITAH srs biz overmodding control trippy types like to hang out en masse to argue in favor of things like control, lack of transparency and who cares what the actual customers/posters think. There are definitely some of those clowns who don't understand what we do and why it works. And even when they grudingly admit it does work, it's "only because our forum is unique and it would never work in other forums", which is total hogwash.

except that the guy known as the most hard line moderator on the site actually took the SE model (specifically citing it) and used it as inspiration for a new set of rules in his forum.

so precisely the opposite, really.

i like the SE overall model very much... i think it's one of the better moderation approaches ive seen.

my only gripe is that the history of moderation on a user is contained almost exclusively in the SE FAQ with no infractions/notes blah blah blah so a user with (0) might have a history of 8 bans for trolling or something. but tbh that's not a huge issue for me since im in SE all the time and i know who does what.

i defy you to find someone who has been more openly critical of rapini's modding than i have. i just dont post it here... simply in the mod forum. lol i didnt see this post before i made my last one. im really not picking on you guys at all and i actually think you all do a good job. ive always said that.

Also going back to old SE. Wasn't it between MEb and JoA as the next SE mod? And the reason JoA wasn't selected was that he was considered basically nothing but a troll? I maybe mis-remembering as it was so long ago. Just funny thinking back on that.
