I realize I made this same post last week..

Updating fantasy scores/situations/etc in thread should be bannable.

I don't understand why people post about it. Who gives a ****? Like, seriously.

I don't play fantasy football but do people text friends and all talking about your points and ****?

It doesn't bother me, I just don't get it.

My favorite part is actually at the games when they show highlights on the big screens and such and people starting cheering and screaming when they show player x scoring a td.

So tired from tourney play this weekend. Finished 135th of 1.7k for a decent cash for a freeroll.

You'd think that a culture that understands how annoying bad beat stories and random poker stories are would understand how annoying these fantasy updates are.

You'd think that a culture that supposedly learns how to take those kinds of beats wouldn't get so annoyed by something so trivial.

they're even worse than bad beat stories. there's a large portion of football fans who don't care about fantasy football.

Especially a culture that loves the (often spectacularly inapt) analogy.

Was mostly in jest obv, but I don't see how its so off base.

Someone telling me about some hand they played some time is no different than someone telling me how their fantasy team is doing.

it is pretty much exactly the same. anyone who doesn't think so either hasn't been around enough fantasy sports players or enough poker players.

I was agreeing with you - we love to say "THIS is just like THAT" in SE, yet in this instance where they really are functionally identical...

And just like bad beats there are legit notable fantasy beats, like a few years back when Westbrook took a knee rather than a walk in score in a week that was most league's championship game. That's bitchworthy. Random "omfg, I can't believe that dude caught 3 Tds to beat me" is terrible.

people posting about fantasy has no impact on me one way or another. seems too trivial to be bothered by and occasionally there is a story worth reading.

Won a seat in a cash game promotion (random table selected, high card for the seat). It's a 1.6k event.

Came through Day 1 with 71.5k chips (average ~95k). Only time I was in a pretty big pot was when I turned a straight with KQ on a JT8A board v AQ.

Day 2 started well. I raised/4b TT, won a couple of other hands and got up to ~115k chips. After that, pretty much nothing went well and I was pretty damn shortstacked going into the money bubble.

They paid 171, and I was all in twice with less than 5 people to the bubble (I was rolling with about 10bbs or less). Passed the bubble and there was great success!

Won a couple other steals and one 3bet with KQ that got someone else to fold. Knew the double up/out spot was coming up. Facing a button raise, I shoved with 77. BB woke up with 88. GG.

Played pretty well imo.... I should probably look to play for a bit more tournaments.

I'm currently down 23.5 points in my fantasy SE league. I need agdci to be mentioned twice in the bad posters thread, 3 "LOL XXXX" threads created, and GREEAR banned twice

posting about how bad a game is is far more annoying than fantasy updates. stop watching and posting if its that bad.

Who besides Ikes would see person A saying "I hate FFB stories" and person B agreeing "yeah, they're just like bad beat stories" and figure that was the perfect opening for bad beat stories in SE?

1) Uh wat bad beat story? You mean a brag story? I got to play with my first pumpkins ever.

2) Because someone asked? Maybe you wouldn't be so mad if City didn't bend over United today.
