Both of these.

I think it is weird that people think others listen to Radiohead to be "cool" when they are one of the most popular bands of the past 20 years. If people wanted to be cool they would be pretending to like tUnE-YarDs or something.

The people who listen to certain band to be cool have never heard of the more obscure bands so they listen to Radiohead because it gives them more cool points to their friends. I consider the Wu-Tang the ultimate, "while people listen to them because it makes them look cool" group. They're by far the most overrated rap group in nerd circles of all-time, and I don't even hate the Wu really.

radiohead is sort of odd to me bc i love that type of music and since their regarded as elite in that class i feel like i should like them but ive given their albums multiple listens and really just dont like it that much

The peak Wu-Tang stuff holds up, but so much of everybody not named Ghostface's later work is bad enough that in the end there's almost more bad than good in their catalog, It's just that the bad isn't super bad and the good is really, really good.

OB4CL 1 and 2 are both better than Ghostface's best work (Ironman I guess)

and Liquid Swords is better than them all

RZA's solo work is good too imo, but I can see some not enjoying it

one thing ive found is that indie rock kids who dont listen to rap always call Ghostface the best rapper in Wutang cause they've seen his albums get 9 on Pitchfork

hes prob 4 or 5 in the wutang power rankings

This is pretty nice. Really though, Wu-Tang were just super smart marketers of themselves in the early 90s and really spoke to the white rebels who are now like 26 and like to feel that way again. I really think if you heard a Wu-Tang song and thought it was from some group you've never heard of, you'd really hate it.

With elite pop/dance music, that's never an issue since when you're listening on the radio, you usually don't even know what song/singer it is and you'll still stumble onto something elite.

someone is being annoying elsewhere and arguing that the 2005 trojans might actually beat the worst team in the nfl that year, which iirc was the texans. this has been done before but i can't find the thread, someone set what the line would be please if they were to have played

More than that, easy. I would probably say like +35 honestly.

Reggie Bush absolutely shredded CFB that year and immediately went to 35 ypg and 3.6 y/a for a team that had a great passing offense and went to the NFC title game. They would get crushed.

I don't think I find anything more annoying than people saying that x college team would beat y pro team.
