You hate your keyboard player because he's black, but never had the courage to tell him so.

Saw Bouncing Souls open for Bad Religion last year.

They still put on a solid show.

The last ****ing tolerable RCHP album came out when uswhatever was like 6 or something. How anybody can tolerate the adult contemporary version of them is beyond me. Some of the songs are OK, and I'd like them if they didn't constantly remind me of how sad they've all become.

Vacation with wife and two stepkids (9 and 12) in San Diego, thinking of staying at Mission Beach and renting a condo. Do I really care if it's oceanside or bayside or north or south?

iirc bayside is quieter and the water is flat calm almost always and as you go north it gets nicer/classier/more suitable for stepkids. but my memory< good internet research. check out torrey pines adjacent to the golf course if youre into hiking/walking.

If you think Rick Neuheisel is scary looking, yes.

Yeah, I'm leaning oceanside.

Kids are active and we'll likely be up for snorkelling/kayak/baby surf/swim/biking/walking. It seems like there's not THAT much difference north vs. south? The amusement park is in the middle so that's a wash.....

Neutral Milk Hotel is initially a little inaccessible, mostly due to Mangum's voice, but holy ****, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is ****ing incredible.

Plus, all the songs are super easy on guitar, if you're into trying to bang hipster chicks.

It's easy to reach this conclusion considering like 80% of their lyrics basically go like "rama lama / shooba dooba scooba / clean my litterbox / with a poopa scoopa". They are right there with STP and REM for just making crap up to fit the song.

if this was actually a troll, it's about as scripted as you can get to piss off a radiohead fan. But really, Fake Plastic Trees has some of the best guitar work of the last generation (and the lyrics and everything else is superb). Definitely in my top 10-20 songs of the 90s, maybe higher.

how is strumming some standard chords the best guitar work of the last generation?

You're right, the best guitar work is some Dragonforce song. Carry on Lars, carry on.

The best guitar work is some 22 minute bull**** song by Yngwie Malmsteen that only private joker has listened to and summarily dismissed as being "too mainstream" before burning the only LP of the song in existence.
