and in regards to the mods being to harsh, this conversation in the modding thread would have gotten like 6 people either exiled or banned in politics, and killa woulda prob permad all of you in oot.

Well this thread should be considered for closure if people are just gonna whine about mods, mods whining about posters, posters whining about other posters, and things of that nature. It would work much better as a mod only thread where they would be the only voice as a how to guide to SE posting. A new OT should be opened to replace this in order to get a fresh start and a clean state.

And this is another reason. As soon as it was clear that he wasn't part of it, the mistake was undone and the ban was lifted. What, an hour or two after it happened? So whatever point you're trying to make here is completely wrong, doesn't hold up to scrutiny whatsoever, and it really aggravating to constantly have to defend against. It won't be missed.

His complaints are riddled with falsehoods and paranoia, and given people's tendency to rebel against perceived authority all it's doing is getting others worked up for no reason. It's basically kick him out of the thread or get rid of the thread. He still has plenty of outlets. I'm sure he could find an audience in ATF, especially w/r/t Victor.

Also, it's pretty standard in all forums that posters aren't to use regular threads to derail and bitch about moderation.

yeah no kidding. not saying that it was non-SE mods who have posted itt recently like Karak/Pudge because i don't remember who was against exactly, but there were a bunch of mods wondering why Bitchface was allowed to post after the horsepr0n thing, combined with general sucking on this new account, and wanted him gone. i think pretty much every SE mod argued against this, and we went to bat saying that TUt/B'Face was a good poster and worth keeping around. boy do we feel dumb now.

so whatever, keep thinking that there is some crazy conspiracy going on, who cares? fight the power, **** the police, etc.

fair enough but this isn't a regular thread. kinda have to expect grievances to come rolling in from somewhere when you make a thread w/that purpose. clark said it had to be done here at this stage, but this has been a catch all for that for some time now-- only difference is now it has to be here. yeah the main dissentors are going to speak up the most and its going to grind on the mods, but that comes w/the territory of making this thread, no?


edit: also, why does it have to be between kicking someone out of a particular thread or closing thread? that's not how any of the other threads work. if the mods think posters are trolling, abusing the system, causing trouble or w/e why can't you guys issue warnings and then proceed to bans, infractions as in other threads? not saying you should ban him here (i don't think you should), but it makes more sense than moving him out of this one thread

Because the TuT M.O. is often to argue for the sake of argument, facts be damned. While I stopped caring about his opinion a long time ago for this reason, it's still pointlessly disruptive. In other threads this will only sustain as long as the current topic is in vogue, but since the topic of this thread is constant it just gives him license to go on indefinitely.

Most everyone else is able to contribute to the topic without outright fabrication and hyperbole in large volume. But if this is a point that isn't as obvious to everyone else as it is to me, the thread's closure is fine too.
