i'm sorry then tsc. although your attitude about this situation may be kind of dickish imo, at least you didn't go laugh in anyone's face about it.

It's better to get all of the money than to just tax it.

And to Phildo, I wasn't going to respond to you, but in the chat we don't sit in a circle.

That's what I am saying. Using a poker term, the way this was handled was a giant angle shot.

If people want to participate in a high brow skype chat, Triumph and I have started a chatroom. Yesterday there was a 4 hour discussion about how Stan Brakhage was an influence for Metal Machine Music.

What's up with that?

2. Don't publicly ask for people to be banned.
This man is out of control, breaking all the rules.

Yeah Phil come on, I mean we all bend the rules occasionally in good fun but you're outright breaking them and I doubt the mods will let that stand. We don't want to lose you as a poster.

i mean isn't that why we're all here, or is it for the poker legislation talk and forum drama?

maybe we should blame the NFL lockout, because NO ONE wants to talk, or read, about that.

This isn't an accurate description of the motivations of the government imo. If this was truly just about money, regulation would make the government way more than whatever this would result in. This is about a prosecutor looking to make a big case to be promoted more than anything imo.

Regulation to follow. This creates a void in the U.S. industry which is a perfect opportunity for new, regulated companies (like ones set up by LV casinos) to grab a foothold.

You assume there is a plan. There isn't. It's highly unlikely that the casino industry behemoths are working in concert with this one prosecutor. Though regulation may still be the end result, with harrahs/mgm/etc benefiting, I don't think that the agenda of anyone involved.

I would guess that the casino companies didn't know exactly what or when, but figured that something like this was more or less inevitable.
