tz, bringing elite critical thinking and logic to the intrawebs since 2006.

anyway, currently i think we are an undervalued asset on this forum. i am in discussions with fellow tzers to form a union and demand a proper collective bargaining agreement from sklansky/malmuth so that we can be fairly compensated for our contributions.

just like college athletes, for 4 yrs we have toiled without any sort of compensation while raising the status of this website. its time to move on to the big leagues. its time to culminate this era of exploitation.

Where can you find a group of these world elites? The best of the best? MIT? Harvard? Government think tanks?

TZ bitches!

Definitely a new low in some ways.

One of my favorite parts was the "the world would be a better place if politicians thought like poker players with logic and EV instead of basing their decisions around beig re-elected." (paraphrasing)

Um, So poker players would be selfless and not care about re-election? They wouldn't care more about personal/career EV than homeless people EV? Yikes.

Best part has to be that winning HS poker players are in a tier above the worlds elite critical thinkers.

Oh also, "I could learn advanced business practices/ideas/policies pretty easily because I win at Poker".

Uh, not sure where you got the 2nd part of that. A lot of the anti arguments seem like projection. Regardless, its not really that awful to say that traits/abilities that make you successful in one career could perhaps make you successful in another.

i've always thought that some of the TZ regs skewed pretty arrogant, but last night's discussion was off the charts, and quite frankly mind-bottling (especially given the epic levels of self-awareness and honest assessment). was fun though.

the second part is a generalization of what assani has been saying.

Its not awful to say it could PERHAPS make you successful in another thing, but that is not what he was saying.

I am definitely not projecting. I find that accusation funny btw.

I have! I have not tried it though.

I'm kinda tempted to read TZ now just to see what everyone is talking about.

it's pretty funny how assani (and to a lesser extent tz in general) thinks 2+2 is the only place in the world where intelligent basketball discussion takes place. there are probably thousands of dudes that are both smarter and more knowledgeable than him begging nba franchises to let them work for peanuts.

Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Brandon Adams, who teaches behavioral finance at Harvard University’s Department of Economics, says some of the best candidates for Wall Street trading jobs are the professional card players at FullTiltPoker.com and similar Web sites.

“They’ve essentially been the survivors in the system, a very difficult system where 95 percent of people lose money,” the 30-year-old Adams, who plays at the site, said in a telephone interview. “Anyone smart enough and disciplined enough to survive that system is probably going to do very well in the trading world.”

An increasing number of hedge funds and brokerages are scrutinizing professional poker to find talent and analytical tools, according to financial recruiters including Options Group, a New York-based executive-search company. Susquehanna International Group LLP, the Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania-based options and equity trading company, uses poker to teach strategic thinking.

didn't see him say they could step in and manage the hedge fund, which is really the point of contention. we could have saved the thread a lot of time and fail if people differentiated between being capable of doing a better job (in the long run) and being qualified to do so here and now
