Would it hurt to have a hypotheticals containment thread? Most are dumb, not threadworthy, and turn into troll fests. I'm sure threads will still get created occasionally but it might be worth a shot.

Giants trolls (not Phildo or oT) are almost Lakers bad. Well, ok not that bad but pretty bad. Phillies posters are mostly awesome though. Even Pippen33, who named himself after the most overrated player in NBA history, is aight.

The thread still can't possibly suck as bad as last year's WS though, I'm scarred for life from that one.

Maybe they just bring down the intelligence level but everyone is pretty awful in there. Between reading that, the Cowherd thread, the NFL weekly thread, and the NFC LEAST thread my eyes are bleeding. I haven't seen a worse day of posting since NFL Draft Day 1, 2006.

Draft Day Thread

Pre-Draft Talk

Some LOL's from me personally:

Quote:
Overall, I only watch for the Jags picks on the first day. It's day two that I love to watch. I love seeing if any of my Divison 2 counterparts get drafted. I feel satisfied every year I see a D2 player get drafted. It's us that play at the lower levels that noone hears of and any of us that can make it to any professional level are cinderella stories.

Highest D2 player I have personally seen taken was Ricardo Colclough out of Tusculum College. He was a second round pick by the Steelers. Anyone know of any premier players from schools not D1-A?
Quote:
I understand this, and I see a few mock drafts have the Jets even taken LenDale White. Does Cedric Houston have no future as a starting RB in the NFL?
Quote:
28. Jacksonville - Bobby Carpenter OLB Ohio State

I keep seeing this and I ask, why? Weakside OLB is the least premier position in football, meaning that its the easiest to fill. Jaguars are a pure BAP team. I understand the need but Carpenter is nowhere near the best availble player.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH..... HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Haahahaaa

haaa

ha...

....

****

Though I still stand by WOLB in a 4-3 is like the least important position on a defense.

Quote:
On the mock draft boards. But some reason I doubt it is because of Mel Kiper. Personel people have been looking at these college players for the past year, they know everything there is about them. More than our buddy Mel Kiper could ever know. They also know if the player will fit in the system they use. Thats what personel people get paid to do, predict the future. I put my faith in all of my teams picks because of the work that I understand what goes into what the scouts do.

Best LOL for me so far was the ESPN mock draft that had Donte Whitner going at 27 and then the Bills took him at 8. Some things never change.

MEbenhoe seems like a good choice...I lurk this forum more than I read it and he seems to be level-headed. That or the no mod/Cola solution, maybe that could be tried for awhile to see if it works. This forum sort of mods itself.

In any event - Nolanfan, nice job.

Given the other threads in the last week or so, I don't know if its good idea to have a thread for a division. There's already the team threads and there will probably be a league thread and some game threads. Not trying to pick on you, but I think we should get some protocols together for the upcoming football season about what should be thread worthy to keep a sense of order to this forum.
LOL @ the haters

Thus the only reason I could see to add a mod is to deal with spam when MEbenhoe or TSAFKAAC are away. Reasonable I guess, but the lighter hand the better - things like managing the link in the OP are pretty silly IMO.

And yeah, way back then both Clarkmeister and I opposed JoA as a mod because we considered him a troll. I don't know if I've changed or if he has, but he is one of the leveler heads in that forum and a really sharp cat to boot. Would definitely endorse making him a mod if TPTB thought it was necessary.
