Tuq, this is just a monumental fail. The whole point of my rants lately, and how in general I argue in football threads, is that I never have taken the internet seriously.

But let's get to recent events - It used to piss me off no end when you and Clark would appear in a thread and tell me (and others) to stop taking a thread off topic. Like in a golf thread, you're talking about golf, or a football thread you're talking aboiut football, but not 100% exactly what the thread title is about. Why the **** not???

FFS, it's not a ****ing essay we're handing in, we're talking **** on the internet. But other than rolling my eyes, if that's what you wanted it then fine.

Bu this season we've gone the other way, now in the football threads, we get told, please don't talk about football, or I will warn you to stop, especially as other posters are complaining about you talking about footbal!!! But talk about any other completely and utterly off topic ****, yeah that's good to go.

What complete and utter bollocks, so hence lately I have made a big deal about this pathetic double standard appaling moderation.

For me, talk about whatever the **** you want in a thread, but don't tell me to stop posting on topic now, when I've been warned for posting off topic in the past elsewhere, then condone off topic posting in the very same ****ing thread!

I always just assumed that mebenhoe was green in an honorary sense, the queen of SE one could say. I had no idea he could still lock threads or remembered how to.

Just because you're posting on topic, doesn't mean you're not subject to moderation. It's really boring to see two guys argue back and forth for a couple hundred posts, saying basically the same thing, making no progress at all in the discussion. You made your points, no one is giving in or changing their mind or even saying anything new. If at that point you can't realize you should just drop it, or take it to PM or IM, then why not have a mod step in? It's totally ****ing boring for everyone else to be subjected to those endless wall of text arguments, and it's pretty much always the same two people... (seriously, you two have to either kill each other, or **** at this point, real love/hate thing going on there)

And fwiw, I'm not one of the people who complained, but rather one of the silent majority who find it incredibly boring. I usually just skim past it and look for something decent, or leave the thread and come back another day. I feel bad for Sethy, seems like no fun and a real no-win situation with some of you...
