The main risk this person runs is malicious, frivolous accusations of libel that might be expensive to defend. All a lawyer could really do beforehand is assess the proof that exists to back up accusations so that they could dunk on fools that try to claim this hypothetical person is lying. And then advise not to write anything the hypothetical person could not prove. But if I was motivated to write such a book, I would feel free to write anything that was true and dare the SOBs to sue.

Luke-warm take: collegiate sports do an incredible amount of good for an incredible amount of people, but your experience is centered in one of two areas that makeup the worst that college athletics has to offer (D1 Football and D1 MBB).

MEb,

That is 100% fair. So, going back to the hypothetical of said person. What if they added in the good that a particular baseball program and coach did for them in getting their name removed from a blacklist and that coach went on to win a national title in one of the 3 major collegiate sports?

With everything said, sports paid for a large portion of this person's education and they are able to continue to educate young minds and stay involved in athletics to this day, and does so happily. They understand the importance of collegiate athletics and the positive impact they have on people's lives, especially considering they are one of those people that benefited from it.

This is all just a hypothetical of something that likely won't happen. Just was being thought of after a few questions were asked at lunch today.

I think this could be good as a contrast of the positive in college athletics vs what you want to show about d1 football.

IANAL and cannot speak to any of the legality questions though.

I like this person's story as a long form scripted television series that explores the realities of modern day collegiate athletics in a non-judgmental tone.

Season 1: Recruitment
Season 2: Playing and Injury
Season 3: Undergraduate Assistant
Season 4: Graduate Assistant
Season 5: THE DRAMA
Season 6: The road to getting back in, the redemption story, winning rings in high school
Season 7: Getting Back in NCAAF and winning two rings
Season 8: Taking a job to help the less fortunate
Season 9: The future

This can probably be sold.

I agree. You might want to take the self publishing route. As for liability yeah you need a lawyer.

Nope this screams of Morgan Freeman narrating the entire story Planet Earth style while Denzel continually gets demoed by the man (first tearing his ACL, then the ESTABLISHMENT continually wearing down his dedication to his one true love - handegg) until he talks to Sandra Bullock about her potential Heisman-trophy-winning prodigy and then he puts in 130 hours a week setting him up for success but inevitably runs into the flying cannon ship but he already used his p-wing and he dies alone and the up-and-coming lineman starts doing coke and becomes a stunt cack for hire.

Gotta leave something for the sequel. Better yet, break it into three movies filmed concurrently by Peter Jackson in New Zealand. The Coach of the Rings.

I see it more as a post-apocalyptic courtroom dramedy musical starring the GOS
