Does it matter how space the bolts are? They seem about 5ft apart, and none of the websites i visit talk about the spacing or have an option to change it - are they all standardized?

How much vacation is too much to ask for from a new employer? Currently have a job with Salary+Bonus+4 weeks vacation+50% match on 401K

Prospective company says no bonus and no match but we will make you whole with salary.
Did not mention vacation days.

Does anyone start with 4 weeks? Senior position reporting to CEO in a 45 person company.

If they said 2 weeks the first year, do you bump up your salary requirements?

4 weeks is reasonable to ask for. If they say 2 weeks then you can still ask for 4 weeks or more money.

KJS - do they have sick time in addition to vacation? not sure what field you're in but in the portland market i'd think that between sick and vacation you'd get 4 weeks at a minimum based on your position. i'd expect 6 weeks.
the company i work for transitioned from vacation+sick to straight PTO a few years ago and it was a glorious thing.

Our company offers 3 weeks but it's a small company, too small to cover for someone being out for 3 weeks, so we wind up just paying guys for their vacation rather than letting them take it. it's kind of a joke
