so whats the deal, every major sport is getting its own mod? Is Needle the last one for a while?

From what I gather, yes there won't be anymore mods added. There seemed to be a want for one or two more after the EPL thread "went down" and that the other mods were "threadzilla" guys, which I am not compared to the others. FWIW, I said that the mods of this forum had been doing a terrific job as is. To be honest, I was initially against adding Tuq/Clark way back when not because of anything other than MEb did a fine job and I figured more modding = bad.

Obviously this place grew leaps and bounds since then so I would have been wrong not to mention Clark and Tuq were good additions(and I fully approve of Sethy fwiw as well). I said when I was asked to volunteer is that the NFL/NCAAF discussion here is top notch and a lot of the reason I have been reading this forums for so long. If I can do anything to help that, then why not?

Edit: Basically what I want to say is that if anyone is afraid that more modding = worse for the forum, I wouldn't be afraid of that.

FWIW, I have really cut back my drinking as I'm on this weight loss kick.

We have consciously reached out to people who we feel embrace the "less is more" modding philosophy. Needle fits in great.

Also, while Needle and Seth were chosen in part because they participate in active threads/subcommunities that get sometimes neglected, they are in fact mods for the whole forum.

I think football is pretty much running on all cylinders in SE and nothing really needs to change with the thread formats or the content, but it'll be nice to have a dedicated football mod around which the forum has probably been lacking.

The important thing for the noob mods is to keep the first post in this thread edited with updated bans, etc.

lol man, you are such a grouch. I'll admit to changing both the NFL thread (changed it back, it was a moment of whimsy surrounding the idea of calling football "handegg") and the cheating thread. It's not a big deal. One is changed back and the other is a terribad thread and only the last part of it was changed anyway.
