Said to myself, "Wait that's David Spade with a quote from Neil Young." But then remembered that I sometimes confuse David Spade with Dana Carvey. So I had to Google Image search David Spade to see if I was remembering the right face and that image was the 2nd result. Props to the artist. Pretty funny.

they practically fall down on their own after they've witnessed all those years of animal husbandry.

Some notes about a trip I just finished that nobody will read (nor should they) but at least I'm putting them somewhere for future reference.

- 16 days, 3750 miles, twelve rounds of golf, seven states, although nearly all the time was spent in Idaho, Washington, and California.

- Tried to stay off the interstates when possible but time constraints and lack of other options made them necessary a lot. From memory drove on stretches of Interstates 17, 15, 84, 90, 405, 5, 505, 80, 680, 5 (again), 210, and 10.

- Most scenic drive: US 93 / Salmon River Scenic Byway, Idaho and Montana. Not a stretch of highway most people would ever find themselves near which is a shame because it is amazing.

- Honorable mentions: US 2 from Wenatchee to Seattle; US 101 from Gilroy to Santa Barbara.

- Best drivers: California, by far. Was passed maybe once in my first 3000 miles and other drivers seemed to exist primarily to get in my way. But in California I was passed countless times and the overall level of skill was elite.

- Biggest wtf is the same as past road trips, so many slow drivers cluelessly plodding along in the fast lane. Unsurprisingly, it seemed the offending party was almost always a woman, with the occasional cameo by an old white guy.

- Ran incredibly good with weather, never being hot or cold at any point in the trip, and places that had been getting a lot of smoke were clear when I was there. Got home to Phoenix having the first days with highs in the 80s since spring.

- Seattle, Portland, and all of California qualify as "great places to visit, could never live there". Either way too crowded, traffic sucked way too much, or the weather would get old after awhile. Look forward to going back though.

- Could totally live in Salt Lake City or the places I visited in Idaho.

- Hippies are going to have to pry my styrofoam cup from my cold, dead hands. Plastic totally sucks for keeping things cold but is the only option in the NW. I anticipated this and took several styrofoam cups with me but was worried I would get arrested and jailed for using them.

- There is no QT / Wawa / Kum 'n Go / Maverik / Casey's equivalent anywhere out west that I came across, which is unfortunate.

- Gas is really expensive in CA. Like every bit of a dollar higher than here. Actually, everywhere else is higher than here but CA was particularly heinous.

- Saw labron having dinner with a bunch of crackers in Santa Barbara on Tuesday. Also saw Channing Frye separately at the same hotel although who GAF about him.

This is laughably way off unless you're a fat. It's much closer to 10,000 for a 30 year old with a reasonable diet. Anything more than 25,000 seems like an unreasonable amount.

Edit: I'll probably order a side of french fries once a month and I'd guess an average order is around 40 fries (more if you're getting shoestring fries and less if you're getting super thick cut fries). Subtract some for sharing with friends or otherwise not eating and for simplicity let's say I average one French fry per day. That's 11,000 for a 30 year old.

we talking specifically french fries or do we include french fry substitutes like waffle fries, sweet potato fries, home fries, tots, etc.?

So you eat fries every 3 days or so? That's crazy to me. I'm not exactly a health/fitness freak either.

I think over a lifetime a fry a day seems pretty reasonable.

yeah seems right. I have chickfila usually twice a week, then add on one more order with a burger/cheesesteak/wings etc at some point
