Agree that I don't see the Ebdon-Selby comps
OK the entertainment comes from seeing professional sportsmen playing to beat the other to a set point. Different players will do that in their own individual styles some of which will be more entertaining to watch than others.
I wouldn't want watch to watch a game full of O'Sullivan clones as I would a game of Ebdon clones.

Ebdon knew he couldn't outplay masters of the game like O'Sullivan or Hendry through break building ability or long potting success, he had to grind them down into frustration and let them make mistakes when playing against him.

I don't think Ebdon and Selby are similar players either. For me they're two players I don't want to see winning world championships. Ebdon in particular for his tortuous slow playing tactics.

Pretty weird how when the audience all has earpieces with the commentary, they'll say something mildly amusing and the audience laughs, sometimes while a player is down on a shot (just happened but I've seen it several times this week). And then the player is like wtf and the ref admonishes the crowd. Commentary guys should learn to stfu with their quips unless it's in between shots.

Snooker commentators are GOAT.

Selby getting the run of the green here!

Higgins needs a few pots to get to grips here. He's looks like he's fell of a cliff.

4-10

12-11

Quite possibly going to be 13-11

Selby was never going to play as bad as he did yesterday.

Ruthless Selby!

Why does everyone here seem to dislike Selby? I've always liked him (especially compared to Higgy).

cos his style is such that large breaks are difficult to come by, both for his opponent and himself. leads to scrappy games where no-one can get into a rhythm

personality-wise i dont mind him at all, he's professional and dignified and all that

I guess I like that technical nature though, leads to less conventional frame set-ups and run outs and when there is a century it's been built pretty epicly (look at his 140+ earlier).

sure, i mean its not a drag to watch him play or anything like that. its still interesting snooker

entertainment-wise it doesn't hold a candle to ronnie in full flow though imo, which is unfortunately the comparison that everyone is making given that selby's now taken over as the clear #1 in the sport

Yep he doesn't gaf if it takes him 5x15 breaks to win frames, everything very scrappy.

****e to watch.

I don't blame him at all, I just can't enjoy it.

Selby looks like he's going to cry after fouling on the black. Snookered himself twice this frame.

I don't think he hit the black there.

Even with the replay it's stupidly difficult.

Yes it did, but look how close to it the referee was to make his call.
