Mate of mine had a good chunk on a 147 to be scored in the tournament at 5/4. Told him he was crazy but he was pretty unlucky in the end. Think there was 3 or 4 who got to the final red?
Anyway, great championship.
He must have been sick after that Higgins miss haha.
Best of 11 really seems like the dumbest possible distance. Interval after four frames (lol), not enough to split it into two sessions but very likely it goes into the a.m. if it goes the distance or close.
You can see why he thought he hit it -if you look at the angle the ball comes back dead straight so it went off line a lot. Still, I don't think he should say he hit is as confidently as that unless he was sure.
Edit - I just looked at Carter's Twitter account and he's a huge gaping A-hole, so **** the cheat.

I went through the *exact* same process on Thursday night. One of his recent RTs is an absolute dealbreaker.
Honestly, this is the first year I've watched it and I quite like it as a single event of this type.
I'm a bit bored of the Pink Panther tune the crowd sign when someone pots the pink but I like the build up and cheer when anyone pots the yellow. What I really want though is for someone to yell "YOU SUCK!". This is something that snooker has missed imo.
Yeah I agree, as a single event it's totally fine. I liked power snooker back then as well. Maybe shouldn't award ranking points but by now, IIRC every **** tournament has ranking points in store.
I really felt sorry for that guy who rolled up behind the black twice for fouls (as nothing hit a cushion). Apparently he's not yet won a frame as a pro!
Didn't see this live, but this is the level of commentary we're paying for:
Robertson 43 behind with 43 on in frame 13 against Selby.
He's trying to play out of a snooker. (Spoiler: he manages it, and that leads to the awesome respot shenanigans)
Ken says: _"He'll be aiming to hit the red here."_
Well thanks for that insightful comment Ken. Thank goodness you were here, otherwise I'd have been totally confused what he was trying to do.
