I've not read that but did look into the case a few years ago. You have to bare in mind that everyone in sport who gets caught comes up with a story - look at the semi believeable reasons for failing a drugs test that we always hear.
Also, the decision was not unanimous - ie some who heard all the evidence found him guilty.
The big thing for me was what he did nothing when getting back to the UK. If it was me the first thing I'd do would be to contact the snooker authorities to cover myself. That should be the first thing an innocent pro should do.
Of course none of us know, but I think he's very likely to be guilty and in any case he was lucky to get off.
I'll say one more thing - I used to know a better shop manager and he told me about some of the betting scams. It was common to fix scores or matches (though not for the top players).
