They were just discussing the ESPN NFL power rankings and Stephen A. said that the Patriots shouldn't be ranked as high as 7th. Said they were the worst 2-0 team in the league and named a few teams that should be ahead of them. His argument was very logical and made a lot of sense (basically, the offense has been terrible and despite the two wins, they've looked bad).

Skip is so focused on defending his Patriots and Tom Brady today that he's not even listening to the easy, basic argument Stephen A. is making. The discussion in a nutshell:

Stephen A: The Patriots offense has been dreadful. They're 2-0, but the Bears, Bengals, and Saints have looked better.

Skip: But they have Tom Brady.

Stephen A: Yes, but Brady has Tebow-like numbers right now. They have no receivers, they fumble, the receivers they do have aren't on the same page with Brady, they drop passes, etc. Just look bad AT THIS MOMENT.

Skip: Tom Brady, tho.

Stephen A: Yeah, I know. They'll get better. They look like **** right now, though, so they shouldn't be ranked so high.

Skip: Look how many dropped passes there have been. Tom Brady.

Stephen: A: Yeah, I agree. WTF, man, you're not even listening.

Skip: Tom Brady.

It might have been mentioned already ITT but back in the day when Bayless worked for the San Jose paper he filled in as host of Jim Rome's radio show when Jim went on vacation. Long story short it was insanely obvious Skip was trolling then and he still is now.

Peyton had a decidedly "meh" run to the SB that year, but he had an insanely clutch 2nd half of the AFCCG against NE and a very solid SB, the two highest pressure situations possible.

Peyton is obviously a huge part of the Colts' two SB runs and playoff losses, but he didn't "choke" in all but one or two of the losses and he didn't shine in 100% of the SB run either. Football continues to be a team game.

Also, Polian gets shat on way to much as an aside. Dude is the GOAT GM. His son needs to go ice fishing, but dad is as good as they come.

I realize this isn't the Is Michael Wilbon ******ed? thread, but my jaw literally dropped while watching PTI this afternoon. They were discussing Matt Barnes use of the n-word on twitter and Wilbon said something to the effect of "The commissioner/owners/etc. better not sit on high like plantation owners and tell black men what words they can't say (in public)".
